Operation Purple Camp at Camp Kiwanis

When:  July 19-25, 2008 (Sunday - Saturday)

 Where: Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (Camp Kiwanis) Danielsville, GA                               

Who is eligible to attend Operation Purple Camp -  (NMFA will also post this information on our website at www.operationpurple.org)

NMFA Camper Eligibility Criteria and Selection Guidance:  (NMFA will also post this information on their website at www.operationpurple.org)

 Operation Purple camps are open to children from all service branches ‑‑ including Guard and Reserves and Coast Guard! 

First priority is given to children who experience a deployment between September 2008 ‑ December 2009 and HAVE NOT attended OPC before

Second: 15 month deployment window (October 2008‑December 2009) and HAVE attended camp before

Third: All other military children, regardless of the service member’s deployment status.

 - Campers are youth 9-14 years old as of January 1, 2009.

 Purposed: Youth 9-14 years old (55 camper spaces available) – 25 (9-10 year old); 20 (11-12) and 10 (13-14 year old) – these numbers can be adjusted depending on those who apply.

Pre-Registration: Operation Purple application must be filled in online at www.operationpurple.org. The online application process will close on April 20, 2009. Then the camp selection process will begin and the 55 slots will be awarded according to the NMFA & American Camping Association Standards. Confirmation notification of selected campers will be made by either email or a phone call by May 4, 2009.  There after all camp paperwork will be due by June 8, 2009 to Lee Fox at 2613 Old Wildcat Bridge Road, Danielsville, GA 30633.  A Boys & Girls Club membership application is required and entitles your child to a one year free membership.
